Each year awards are given to one individual within the wildlife profession and one individual or group outside the profession that have made noteworthy contributions to wildlife conservation in the region. Nominations must be submitted to State Representatives (See the Chapter Officers listings) by January 15 of each year. Awardees are announced at the Annual Meeting in April.
Previous Awardees
Professional Acheivement Award: Bill Hesselton, Doug Blodgett, Steve Broderick, Mark Ellingwood, Will Staats, Tom Decker, Charlie Allin, Bob Askins, Ed Robinson, Jim Oehler, John Lanier, Susi von Oettingen, and Eric Orff.
Certificates of Recognition: Northeast Utilities, the Connecticut Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation, the Great Bay Resource Protection Partnership, Connecticut Waterfowl Association, Mike O’Leary a CT DEP volunteer, and the Weir Family from Amherst, MA.
There are a number of individuals and groups in our profession that deserve recognition. Please consider nominating someone next year.

The 2006 Professional Development Award was presented to Susi von Oettingen, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service for her outstanding contributions to coordinating the conservation and restoration of numerous rare species in New England. |

2005 Awards
There were no nominees for the Professional Development Award in 2005. The Certificate of Recognition was given to Mike O'Leary, a volunteer for the CT DEP - Wildlife Division.
